USB External Hard Drive will not mount OS X

If you are having troubles mounting an external Hard Drive:

1. Double click your hard drive icon (top left corner)
2. Click the Applications Icon
3. Scroll Down to Utilities and expand that folder.
4. Double click "Disk Utility"

It may take a second to load if it is actively trying to detect/mount your drives, however, you should eventually see a screen similar to this. In the picture below, notice the "X Drive" is faded out a bit, this drive is not mounted properly on my system.

To mount it simply, click the faded drive. in my case X DRIVE, then click the Mount Icon at the top of the Utilities Window.

Note: You may get a message saying that the drive could NOT be mounted, but everytime I get this message, the Drive still mounts for me anyways.
