Reduce/Eliminate Crashing while playing Steam Games in Vista

If you are using a ATI RADEON card, in my case an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro, be careful about overclocking it using the ATI catalyst control center in Vista.

While playing various Steam games such as Day of Defeat:Source and Left 4 Dead, I was getting a weird crash periodically and would result in an error message along the lines of "Video Card Driver has stopped responding.".

I updated my Video Card drivers thinking that was the issue, but it was actually due to my overclocking using the auto detect feature ATI provides.

So if you are experiencing crashes and have a RADEON card, you may want to turn overclocking off it is on.
